One Week with Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Corrector Serum: Breakouts, Brightening, and a Streamlined Routine!
Hey everyone!
Last week, I excitedly shared my new addition: the Anua Niacinamide 10% + Tranexamic Acid 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum. Now, after one full week, my routine has evolved slightly, and it's time for an update!
Initially, when I introduced the Anua serum while using the Natural Blends Turmeric and Mandarin Orange Soap, Differin, and Hydrocortisone 1% cream, I experienced some breakouts. To figure out the cause, I made some adjustments.
The first crucial change was going back to my trusted PanOxyl 10% Foaming Wash twice daily, starting on Tuesday, May 6th. This simple switch made a noticeable difference in calming down the breakouts. It seems the combination of the Anua serum and the turmeric soap wasn't the right fit for my skin.
Now for the exciting part: despite the initial hiccup, the high-potency Anua serum is showing promising results on my dark spots! I've been using it nightly, and I'm already seeing a visible lightening of my hyperpigmentation especially under my chin. The 10% Niacinamide and 4% Tranexamic Acid are likely the powerhouses behind this relatively quick improvement.
My current nighttime routine looks like this:
- PanOxyl 10% Foaming Wash
- Anua Niacinamide 10% + Tranexamic Acid 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum (applied after cleansing and allowing my skin to dry slightly)
- Differin (applied specifically to any active bumps or areas prone to breakouts)
You'll notice I've removed the hydrocortisone cream from my regular routine. With the PanOxyl helping to manage overall breakouts and Differin targeted to specific bumps, I no longer feel the need for it.
My daytime routine is currently just the PanOxyl wash, as I'm still on the hunt for a face sunscreen that my skin tolerates. Because of this, I remain extra cautious about sun exposure.
My Thoughts After One Week:
- The Anua Niacinamide 10% + Tranexamic Acid 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum is proving effective in lightening my dark spots with nightly use.
- Switching back to PanOxyl twice daily has significantly helped to reduce breakouts.
- I'm now using Differin as a targeted treatment for breakouts rather than all over.
- Simplifying my routine by removing the hydrocortisone seems to be working well.
- The ongoing search for a suitable sunscreen continues to be a priority.
Overall, this first week has been about observation and adjustment. I'm thrilled with the progress on my dark spots thanks to the Anua serum and relieved that focusing on targeted treatments for breakouts is helping. I'm optimistic about the continued improvements and will keep you all updated on my journey.
Seeing the visible lightening of my dark spots after just one week with the Anua serum has me really excited! And going back to PanOxyl has made a significant difference in my breakouts.
